Sound familiar?
There are plenty of courses, software names and job titles, and they all sound alike. Tutorials only take you so far, and a certificate on its own does not open studio doors. What helps is a clear path, guided practice on real projects and people who can answer your questions.

If you are looking for a game design course in Pune, start with the Game Design card. Add Master in Unreal Engine if you want to build real time scenes, or Advanced Program in Game Art and Design if you want to make game characters and assets.
A good game development course in Pune should teach you how a game goes from an idea to something a player can pick up and play. At Arena Animation FC Road you work through that path on projects, so you build the thinking and the portfolio together.
Turn an idea into rules, goals and a loop that makes a game fun to play.
Plan spaces, challenges and pacing so players know where to go and what to do.
Create characters, props and environments for games, using tools such as Blender.
Build and test your ideas in engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
Make a playable version early, watch how people play and improve it.
Pull your best projects into a portfolio that studios can review.
Game design is about the idea, the rules and the player experience. Game art is about how the game looks, from characters to environments. Game development is about building the game in an engine and making it work. Most studios need all three, and the roles often overlap, especially in smaller teams. If you like planning and story, start with design. If you like drawing and 3D, start with art. If you like logic and building, start with development. A counsellor can help you choose in a short conversation.
Possible career paths
Typical roles people move into after training in Gaming & Game Design. Studios name them differently, so treat this as a guide to the kind of work you can aim for.
Placed and hired by studios
Arena Animation has long stood behind its students’ careers. Every student who completes a programme gets help moving into a creative career, from portfolio building to interview preparation.
Trusted by the best
Our graduates have gone on to work with game studios, animation studios and media companies across India.
These are the students whose work our mentors are proudest of. Each card shows the student, the role they trained for and the project they built.
Each placement began as a portfolio built during the course. Here are some of our most recent.
What our Gaming & Game Design students say
You will learn how games are designed and built, from the first idea to a playable level. That includes game concept, mechanics, level design, game art and real time tools such as Unity and Unreal Engine. The course is project based, so you finish with a portfolio of work you can show to studios.
Check four things. Look at real student work, not only ads. Ask who reviews your projects and how often. Find out what placement support really includes, for example portfolio workshops and mock interviews. Visit the centre and talk to current students. You can do all four at Arena Animation FC Road in a free counselling session.
The fee depends on the programme and its duration, since a 6 month course and a 35 month programme cost very differently. Our team shares the exact fee and what it includes during counselling, along with EMI options and education loan support. Ask for the complete fee and batch timings before you decide on any institute.
Advanced Program in Game Art and Design runs 18 months, and the version with Specialization runs 24 months. Advanced Program in Game Design runs 27 months, and Trinity runs 35 months. Unreal Engine and Unity are shorter courses of 6 months each. A counsellor will help you pick the length that fits your goal.
Yes. Many students join after 12th, and graduates and working professionals join too. Eligibility differs by programme, so share your qualification with a counsellor and they will tell you which one you can join.
You do not need to know coding to start. Game design is largely about ideas, rules and level planning. Game development involves more logic and scripting. Ask our counsellor for the exact scope of each programme, so you know how much technical work to expect.
Game design is the idea, rules and player experience. Game development is building the game in an engine and making it work. Game art is the look of the game, such as characters and environments. Studios need all three, and in small teams one person often does more than one. If you are searching for a game art course in Pune, our Advanced Program in Game Art and Design and Advanced Program in Game Design together cover that ground.
Unity is popular for mobile and smaller projects, and Unreal Engine is known for high quality visuals in larger games. We teach both Unity and Unreal Engine, and Unreal Engine is also available as a separate 6 month course. Your counsellor can suggest the one that suits the kind of games you want to make.
Not on day one. You can begin on the systems at our centre and see how the work feels before you spend a lot on hardware. Game engines are demanding, so when you are ready to practise at home, your mentors can suggest what suits the tools you are using.
Typical roles include game designer, level designer, game developer, 2D or 3D game artist, environment artist, game asset designer, UI/UX designer for games, AR/VR developer and technical artist. Studios use different job titles, so look at what the work involves and match it to the skills you built.
No institute can honestly promise a job, because studios hire on the quality of your portfolio and your interview. What we do is run portfolio workshops, mock interviews and introductions to studios through our placement cell. Your effort and the quality of your work decide the result.
Yes, building small playable projects is a big part of learning. Each project can go into your portfolio and also teaches you how real players react to your ideas. Gaming is a growing creative field, but studios hire on skill and portfolio, so the work you build matters more than the course title.
